Education

Clay is of a very animating nature for children: building, modelling, kneading, smearing, hitting, pressing, stomping, layering, mixing, sieving, filling, and painting. All senses are being challenged, especially the tactile senses.
The children encounter a material in a prepared environment, either in a workshop or on a building site, which allows varied experiences of the
material’s qualities and develops the children’s
fine motor skills on all levels. They become artists, craftsmen or explorers in an environment that integrates the topics clay architecture, art, culture and natural science in the process.

Bunte ERDE
The combination of the words Bunte ERDE
(Colourful Earth) links three thoughts together.
It refers to the fascinating variety of colours of clay that is the primary material provided for the children; it refers to the cultural diversity and the cultural context of adolescent children and takes into consideration the individual’s uniqueness with all their talents and abilities they acquire during the formation of their selves.
